Techincal Stage Manager (HMP Northumberland) 2025

Before the pandemic, I first worked with Mickey Cochrane at the Tyne Theatre & Opera House in Newcastle, where I re-lit his production. His initial concept was straightforward: a basic, stark lighting wash with red and blue for the boxing scenes. While I wasn’t initially interested in boxing, I was quickly captivated by the story of Glenn McCrory after seeing the production. Following several successful re-mounts, including the most recent at Newcastle Theatre Royal, Mickey asked me to work on a special project for HMP Northumberland. This presented some interesting new challenges, mainly because it would take place inside the prison itself.
